Alumni Club is the place for alumni and alumni of the future. Get together and stay posted on each others whereabouts and developments after life at KASK. Before Alumni Club there wasn’t a place to fall back on after graduating but we noticed that a lot of alumni have the same questions and thoughts about graphic life and often don’t know where to start. This leads to the same research being done over and over again. Instead of laying the ground work over and over again, we can use this time to build! We can do more, do better and learn more when we have a network to rely on.
When you’re graduated from KASK, you are automatically part of the graphic designer community, but without seeing and experiencing it like we did in classes, it might feel like a fantasy. This doesn’t have to be true! Even though you walked out of the doors as a student for the last time and now stepped into a new phase of you life, you are not alone. We are right here with you. Wether you are a graphic designer, decided to broaden your horizons or even decided to step into a whole different direction, we’re here with you. All of the alumni experiences, tips and tricks are valuable. We can learn from each other, we are all in this together!
If you have any questions, thoughts, or even answers and tips, you can add them to the Tips and Tricks page. All the information on the site has been gathered through conversations over the last two years. Alumni Club had been founded as part of Naomi Greenstein’s master project. She noticed a strong need for community, and with that started the project in search to find a way to create more, together. This thought was followed with meetings and talks about people’s own experience and it was striking how many alumni feel lost after graduation, and how much it helped to share these experiences with each other. It clarified the need for a social platform to fall back on, and the need to create space to have these conversations.
A part of the club is the Alumni Club shows poster editions. Every two weeks Alumni are invited to create a new poster or to choose an old one and add their twist to it to show on the gates of the school. It’s a fully free option in which people can partake in any way that fits their creative work.
